Inroads

We were inspired by this phrase years ago, as it seemed to sum up completely what we had been called to do in the earth. A path into the deeper unknown; a word of connection and development into areas less travelled. A building together of ideas.

Then I looked up the definition.

Inroad: an advance or penetration often at the expense of someone or something.
for example < the army is finally making inroads into enemy territory>

 ...Yikes.

Other definitions spoke of invasion, incursions and hostile takeovers. We were peacemakers; wanting to work with communities to raise them up... this sounded downright colonial and I wanted nothing to do with it. But then the Spirit began to remind me...

"...I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it."

We do not create the road; it is already forged in the message of the Son of Man; King of the army in whom is the sure victory. It is a perfect defenition of a battle already won in Heaven, captives freed; lives restored and enemy overthrown. He is the Inroad.

I guess it's time to be a warrior
